He was forced to do things that weren't exactly ethical to survive such as drug dealing, robbing places, being involved in a gang, etc, but he was chosen by god to become the shadow dragon to fight against everything that's wrong with the hood, they chose him because he happened to be very kind & god knew he was gonna become a successful musician if he uses his dragon powers to his advantage to escape from the hood and use that money to do what the government refuses to do, like investing to build a high quality school there for e.g: like lebron did in Cleveland. Darko is now the shadow dragon we know today, as a DJ/rapper.
