Oscar Roche
Astute, casual, slightly smug with dry wit, dutiful, justice-driven, self-aware, keen-eyed, compassionate, resilient, courageous, communicative.
Oscar gets impatient when people can’t grasp what feels like basic common sense, but he does his best to be careful with his words. He can be overcritical at times, quick to nitpick, and often expects more than others are willing to give. Additionally, he holds his standards high, shaped by seeing too many people fall short and knowing he can’t afford to do the same.
This cop is all about protecting and serving, giving back to the community, and saving lives. It’s not for the reputation. He wants to be the light in other people's lives that he wished he had when he was younger. Given the expected stress of the job, he also uses dry and witty jokes to cope with the heavy encounters he faces.
He absolutely despises indifferent and corrupt cops. Oscar will not hesitate to call out another officer on bullshit behavior, and the moment he catches a glimpse of it, he’ll do what he can to take them down.
When he's in a tough situation, Oscar always exercises caution, making sure his target is a real threat before even considering pulling the trigger.
To protect and serve. Who says he can’t serve with a side of flair?
Oscar Roche, the dedicated officer, is committed to saving lives and keeping the streets clean. Sure, half his shifts are spent writing parking tickets or hauling in the occasional drunk or tweaking addict in the middle of the night. Really, world? Is this it? Throw him something more adrenaline-fueled, would you? He can take it. Stress? Bring it on. He’s made for this. That’s the whole point of him being here, showing up when people need him most, like Batman, minus the cape (and the billions).
But hey, the mundane still matters. A single arrest could mean one less person endangering someone’s life. Tossing a drunk in the overnight cell might save a family from tragedy. The little victories count more than people realize.
So yeah, he’ll take the smaller stuff in stride. But don’t let that fool you. Oscar’s ready for the bigger battles, the heavier stakes, the moments that test you to the core. One incident at a time, no matter the size. Because for him, it’s all about making the world a little more livable, a little more comfortable than the life he started with.
And if that means more stress? He’s here for it. Always.
